Why PizzaPeople?

Ever since I was a kid, pizza has been my favorite food.

Every holiday, my family would pile into our rusty Pontiac station wagon and drive four hours from our home in Massachusetts to my Grandma's house in Long Island, New York. It was worth the drive. Waiting for us, Grandma always had a pizza on the stove. It was a thick, fluffy Sicilian pie with a light sauce of tomato and green pepper. First, Grandma would give us all kisses at the door. Then, she would usher us into her warm kitchen and divvy up the much anticipated pizza pie with a long pair of kitchen scissors.

The pizza’s my Grandma made are, to this day, unforgettable. As the
flavors of her kitchen linger in my memory, I pursue the art of pizza making in my own home in hopes of discovering her secrets. The result: great tasting pizza and a culinary ritual for my own, new family.

I have made some tasty pizzas but have never replicated Nanny’s magic and don't think I can do it alone. PizzaPeople is designed to share my pizza making techniques with other pizza enthusiasts and invite them to share their discoveries. Become a member and tell your story, publish recipes and find people that share your love for pizza.
